Firstly, this isn’t the exciting post I was referring to, but I just have to share how my day started.

I woke up this morning thinking that I was hearing the baby cry. So I listened for a minute, not the baby. It was a longer whine with a slight raise at the end.

For those that don’t know, we bought 6 chicks back during Tractor Supply’s chick days. We were hoping that all would be hens, no such luck. We got a rooster. Roosters are not allowed in the city, heck neither are hens but being as we live out in a more secluded area, we get away with it!

Awe, aren’t they cute!

So the rooster is crowing, not the baby. I tried to go back to sleep, but then the dog is moving around like he has to go potty. So I get up to let him outside, get back in bed and try to go back to sleep. It’s 4:30am. Then the other dog decides she is thirsty and hungry. Really? Why can’t these animals eat and drink when we are awake?! Then the cat comes jumping on me to let me know that the dog is still outside. That’s it, I give up. Time to get started with the day.

Moral of the story: only buy sexed chickens! Unless of course you like a rude awakening!

I promise that exciting post IS coming, we just have to finish that project first 🙂

Keep Reclaiming!
